Insurance : Insurance add-ons at checkout are usually not worth it. Warranty extensions and phone insurance are the add-ons that are especially poor. Warranty extensions typically only pay out a device's depreciated value, not its purchase price. [2]
Insurance : Public health insurance premiums will rise in 2027. This is not a surprise. Public insurance premiums depend on your income (capped at a maximum threshold) and the contribution rate. Both increase every year. However, in 2027, the government plans to increase the income threshold by an additional € 300 per month, on top of the normal yearly increase. This will cost you an extra 26€ per month. It also has a positive side effect for privately insured individuals. The employer contribution will rise from 508€ to 561€ per month. This will reduce your monthly burden.
