Law :You can now sell surplus electricity (solar power) to your neighbors in the same grid zone (§ 42c EnWG) from June 2026. Grid operators are legally required to make energy sharing technically possible. You and your neighbor need a smart meter gateway (iMSys) to buy and sell excess solar energy. Proposals German Health Minister has published a draft long-term care insurance reform. The government projected a shortfall of €7.6 billion for 2027 and €15.4 billion for 2028. Here are the major reforms planned.
Increase the income threshold used to calculate Long-term care insurance contributions.
Higher contributions for childless individuals.
Surcharge for free family insurance.
The €131/month relief allowance for care level 1 is eliminated.
Relief amount for levels 2 and 3 is halved for the first three months.
Stricter criteria for care levels 1–3
Pension contributions paid by long-term care insurance if you care for relatives will drop to 70% of current levels.
Since 2020, only children earning over €100,000 gross annually must pay parental support. This threshold could be lowered.
Ultimately, Long-term care won't get cheaper. You should plan for your retirement and long-term care now. Start by opening a trading account and starting an ETF savings plan.

New launch : OpenAI Dreaming -> Memory management has been a major blocker to long-term AI use. OpenClaw and Hermes tried to solve it by saving your chats/preferences in plain MD files or in a database. Anthopic tries to tackle it with CLAUDE.md files, SKILLS, Sub agents, etc. It has shown significant improvement in AI agents' work on long-running projects. However, it's still not enough. ChatGPT started saving your chats in memory to give you better personalized results. Now OpenAI has launched a new concept called "Dreaming." This allows you to check what memory ChatGPT has saved and edit it. It helps ChatGPT to give you more personalized suggestions based on your past conversations. OpenAI says factual recall rose from 41.5% to 82.8% with "Dreaming". The same improvement is seen in preference-following, which climbed from 31.4% to 71.3%. You can read more about "Dreaming" here.
New launch : Hermes launched its own version of the Claude desktop. If setting up Hermes on your PC seems too technical, you can now install its desktop version. You don't have to think about APIs or CLIs anymore. Just get a Hermes subscription as you do for ChatGPT or Claude and start using the Hermes desktop.
News : Anthropic announced that it would slow or pause frontier AI development if peer labs did too. Anthropic says we should give ourselves more time to deal with AI's immense implications. This statement came after 80% of all the code committed in Anthropic was written by Claude. Both Anthropic and OpenAI see the glimpse of self-improving models.
